What is RPW and what do we do?
RPW started out in the 1980's specialising in engine reconditioning, and within this field specialised in Mitsubishi. Hyundai was later added to this as they began running the Mitsubishi engines which also followed with the Proton range for the same reasons. Today we rarely do any normal engine reconditioning as Performance work on the same model cars became our focus , although if you have a vehicle that you want a standard reconditioned engine, we still do this work.
Over the years, the business has changed from being primarily customer focused on individual jobs within our own workshop, to instead focusing on our internet sales and mass production of components.
The continued expansion of our online website store is a priority which will mean that customers can continue to purchase those hard to get parts that no one else makes. This will be expanded as we convert more of our workshop premises to a warehouse layout, enabling is to bring and hold more stock.
RPW has been campaigning for the last 12 years in the drag racing and is slowly moving into Circuit racing as well.
We have in the past been racing our 2 Door 1976 Mitsubishi Galant Drag car with a twin Webber naturally aspirated 12 sec 2.6 Astron Engine. This has recently been upgraded with a full turbo package, Haltech ECU and Torque Flight 904 Transmission etc. This is stepping up to the 10 sec bracket to compete in the Western Australian Super Sedan class with our eventual aim to break into the 9 second times.
The other well know RPW vehicle, is of course our 11 second Twin Turbo Magna which has broken many records, competed in many dyno shoot-outs. That is having some more upgrades with a Haltech system as well. This vehicle whilst now mostly used as a daily runner, will still occasionally visit the drag strips and other racing events.
The third vehicle in our stable, is a Mitsubishi Evolution 3 Lancer GSR. This is being prepared for circuit racing and motor khanas etc, the well balanced vehicle will enable us to be extremely competitive against other vehicles. Our goal with this vehicle is to compete in Targa Tasmania in 2012, competing in Targa West and other smaller rallies during 2011.
As can be seen, we are very passionate about our Mitsubishi vehicles, we fix them, race them, compete in varied forms of motor sport with them enabling us to bring our experience to you, the customer.
With the unfortunate diminishing range of Mitsubishi vehicles being modified, we have expanded into other brand vehicles and have split our websites to one dedicated to the workshop and another dedicated to the Online Website Sales.
